History of Angie, our sweetest  little daredevil

It has been  mostly the case that picked up Angie for ourselves, since she has been hardly injured in her front leg( the left one) when one month old running many serious risks for her future life. The day after her grandsire, our beloved Rajalinjan Iceman, left us, she started walking again on her four legs , even if limping. We decided this was Vallti's last gift ...

We can say without any doubt Angie is the best from our A litter; her show career started wonderfully on 2003, always excellent first in joung classes, Angie was BOB at the tender age of 13 months at Napoli's Internationl Dog Show under the well known sighthound specialist M.me Christine Delabelle from Belgium. One month later Angie was awarded of the title of San Marino's Republic Young Champion, later on she got her first CAC/CACIB at her debut in open class.

But a bad destiny was waiting for her.. on April 18, 2004 Angie broke radium and ulna of her left leg; she went under two different kind of surgeries all in a row, you can see external fixings on her leg on the photo above: nothing worked and at the end of 2004 her leg was in an awful condition.

So she went under another surgery on November 5th, 2004; the surgery was made by Antonio Ferretti, DVM, orthopedic specialist; he applied on Angie's leg Ilizarov method, better known to be used in humans to make bones longer. Six months after this last surgery we're so happy than Angie's leg has finally healed and Angie is now able again to walk on her four legs.. we do not know, nor we care if Angie will be able to walk again properly in show rings, it does not matter, we know her beauty.  What we care is Angie is going to have again a normal borzoi life, after all our hopes were quite gone...

Here's Angie " new" leg, even if the picture does not show perfectly how straight it is

I just wanted to share with you shortly Angie's story in order to tell you, in case of need, NEVER GIVE UP!!!
